The biggest blessing and the biggest challenge in my life is my six-year-old son, Jake. I’m the caretaker on 16 acres of a spiritual retreat in Sedona Arizona. This beautiful property hosts spiritual retreats and healing for all faiths. Jake runs wild when not in school.
Jake has never lived what many would consider a normal life – house, consistent friends, stability?
Jake has been to 46 states in our 40 foot diesel pusher. The other day Jake asked me – dad why don’t we ever go camping? I have to admit I was a bit perplexed and humored.
I immediately started looking for a four season large tent. I narrowed it down to the RDS “rapid deployment shelter” – tent.
Black Friday hit and RDS had a sale and I hit buy buy buy! This tent is not cheap and not for the faint of heart weighing approximately 70 pounds – but is so incredibly easy to put up. Over the following days I will be evaluating the tent and different camping gear that I bought. I am not paid by RDS. I paid full price on Black Friday.
My initial impression of the tent after sleeping five nights in 40° weather complete with rain and 30 mph winds – this tent is epic! Jake? You ask? He is so happy with his new room!
Our goal is to camp for the next four months in our RDS Tent! Come on along for the adventure!
